Total Physical Response (TPR) is a language teaching method that emphasizes the use of physical movement and gestures to help students understand and acquire a new

language. Here are some other techniques that can be used in a TPR classroom:


1. Storytelling: Telling stories by using gestures and actions to help students

understand and remember new vocabulary and grammar structures.

2. Picture prompts: Using visual aids such as pictures or flashcards to prompt

students to use the target language in response to specific actions or commands.

3. Games: Using games such as Simon says, charades, or miming to help students

practice new vocabulary and grammar structures in a fun and interactive way.

4. Rhyming: Involving Rhymes of words into lessons to make them more engaging

and memorable for students.

5. Movement and gesture: Incorporating more movement and gesture into lessons to

help students understand and remember new language.

6. Creative activities: Using creative activities such as drawing, acting, or roleplaying to help students practice new language in a fun and interactive way.

7. Pair work: Encouraging students to work in pairs or small groups to practice new

language and build communication skills.

8. Field trips: Organizing field trips to places where students can practice and use

the language in real-life context.

9. Real-life context: Using real-life context to help students understand and use

language in a meaningful way.

10.Technology: Incorporating technology such as VR apps, interactive teaching videos

with requires movements, and online resources to that support language learning.


The goal is to provide a variety of techniques that are interactive and meaningful to

students, allowing them to practice and use the language in a fun and engaging way.
