Some creative ways of having students record their voices as a learning activity: Voice recording is a cheerful and engaging way to practice speaking and listening skills, and it could be used in a variety of creative ways. Particularly, having students record their voice is a valuable tool for language learning, it allows them to practice their speaking skills, self-evaluate their progress, and get more exposure to the target language. Here are some activities that could allow students to practice their language skills, in a creative and attractive way. Moreover, the use of social networking apps can facilitate the sharing and feedback process and provide an opportunity for students to connect with each other and the teacher.

1. Storytelling or role-playing via voice acting: Have students record themselves telling a story, it could be a personal story, a traditional folk tale, or a made-up story. Or having them perform a role-playing activity where they have to use the language they have learned in a real-life scenario. For example, they could record themselves ordering food at a restaurant or making a reservation at a hotel. This activity can help students to develop their storytelling skills, vocabulary, and grammar.

2. Voice memo for news reporting or voice-over narration: Have students record themselves giving a voice memo or reporting on a news article or a current event in the target language. They could use a social networking app like WhatsApp, Telegram or Line to share the voice memo. Or have them record their voices to provide voice-over narration for a video or slide presentation on a topic of their choice. This can help students to develop their pronunciation, intonation, and speaking fluency.

3. Audio diary or journals: Have students record their voice to create an audio journal or an audio diary where they can practice their speaking skills and reflect on their language learning progress. They can use apps like Day One or Diaro for this activity.

4. Poetry recitation: Have students record themselves reciting a poem in the target language. They can use apps like Voice Recorder or Voice Memos for this activity.

5. Debate: Have students record themselves participating in a debate in the target language on a topic of their choice. This can help students to develop their argumentation skills, critical thinking, and public speaking skills.
